My Life as a Realtor – Day 38
My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 38:
A really, really easy day – and very well appreciated! Matt – from Tech Gurus – 646-867-0778 - came over to drop off David’s computer – he had just dropped off Melissa’s lap top a few day ago… what would we do without him. He comes to our house – charges near to nothing compared to shops that I’ve been to in the past and he is always available when I have a question about purchasing a new camera – web cam – and lap top or computer.
After working a bit in the morning – Amanda, Sara and I went school shopping to Marshall’s in Danbury. Awesome prices for lots of great clothes and shoes.
Amanda at Marshall’s
I believe most everyone is enjoying these last few days of summer vacation and busy getting kids ready for school since my cell phone only went off a few times with e-mails during the entire time I was out.

Day 37:
Making my way to the home in Mahopac, NY
Big and busy day today – Started out this morning by meeting my clients at the home they were purchasing in Mahopac, NY - to do their walk through. After making sure all was well – toilets flush, faucets for both hot and cold water run, attic cleaned out, looked over the home inside and out - we were off to the closing in Bedford Hills, NY.
Sellers attorney’s office – Bedford Hills, NY
After the closing, I went to the office – Century 21 VJF Realty – did some work and then headed to Elmsford, NY – to the Hampton Inn for a seminar in Short Sales - very informative.
Hampton Inn – Elmsford, NY
Afterwards, Linda – our Broker/Owner, Eva, Caroline and I, went to The Cheese Cake Factory in White Plains, NY – What a lovely end to a wonderful day!

My Life as a Realtor – Day 36
My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 36:
Well, an easy day – work wasn’t very demanding today – only had about 20 phone calls – under 200 e-mails – wrote 2 Blog post – 1 Fax – and of course tending to the house, kids and pets filled in the rest of the day.
Drove Jonathan to Loews Movie Theatre in Danbury. He watched Shorts and then went to a friends.

David had to go to West Conn – so much involved in registering Melissa and David for college – maybe by our fifth child, I’ll be a pro!
Western Connecticut State University
For dinner – grilled chicken – one of my favorite foods to eat. Since school begins next week, Melissa and David have some friends over. Thankfully, they are all watching a movie and not making much noise. Tomorrow is a big day – since July 17th, my clients have been patiently waiting to close on their first home. Tomorrow is finally their big day!

Day 35:
What a gorgeous day out – in the 80′s – sunny, but comfortable. So comfortable, we were able to turn the air off and open our windows for some fresh air!
Enterance to Candlewood Town Park ~ New Fairfield, CT
Worked from home again – drove Jonathan to meet with some of his friends at Candlewood Lake Town Beach in New Fairfield – 5 minutes from home - to meet with some of his friends.

Then I dropped our car rental off at New Fairfield Auto Body so that Enterprise can pick it up in the am – Oh, that Ford Focus will be missed! When Joe gets back from Portugal, we will have to go car shopping and he’s insisting on a pick up truck.

Then -work, work, work…
Clean, clean, clean…
Back to pick up Jonathan -

Dinner, dinner, dinner…
Then Melissa and I went to Shaw’s - just a few things needed. And back home to -
Work, work, work… until about 2am since I have a busy day tomorrow.

Day 34:
Another day come and gone – summer is quickly coming to an end and it’s making me depressed. I LOVE SUMMER! Don’t care for the humidity, and this summer has not been bad. So, I really, really don’t want summer to end.
Worked from home today – phone calls, e-mails, potential new client…
Then a trip to the A & P in Danbury with Sara and Amanda. I enjoy taking one or a few of the kids with me. The girls did all the recycling while I covered over half of my shopping. They also stood in line at the deli and helped bag the groceries and pack the car – the rental from Enterprise – Ford Focus – that will be returned since Joe is in Portugal. Nice little car, has a built in I-Pod player and the girls and I had fun listening to all my songs! Ha! They only like a few of them – here’s one -
All I Want to Do – Sugarland
Then back home…
About to pull into my driveway…
And the best part of the day, I finally spoke with Joe! I had been trying all day, but he, his parents, brother and family and his sister and family – who are all there on vacation – went to Fatima – the Holy Land of Portugal.
Beyond Forgetting – Flickr.com – Fatima
We downloaded Skype to the girls mini Dell computers – since they have a built in web cam – so, we not only spoke with Joe – we saw him and he us – Skype is so cool!
Every year that my in-laws go to Portugal, they always visit Fatima and then take advantage of the over 2 hour trip and take in a few other beautiful places. One other place that they also always visit is Nazare – which is located on the Atlantic coast. This beautiful beach with panoramic views of crystal blue water is also one of my favorite places to visit. The view from the top is magnificent!

Day 33:
Busy today, but not as usual and I was grateful for that since I had a headache that just wouldn’t leave! My mother suffers from them and they are not fun. But I keep chuggin away knowing that it will eventually pass.

I called Portugal again today – and again, Joe was not at home – he is taking advantage of every minute he’s there – good for him! We are setting up a Skype account so that me and the kids can chat and see him for the next few weeks that he’ll be there. I also spoke with my mom, who lives about 2-1/2 hours away from where Joe is. Hopefully, we will be seeing her this fall.
My day continued – putting work aside for a bit and tending to the house - everyday I vacuum and/or swiffer my floors – and everyday Remi attacks what I’m cleaning with. After a bit, he gave up on taking the vacuum hose from me and decided to chase Moe – here is where Moe ended up…

David made dinner tonight – a very delicious roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, steamed veggies and a flat bread with fresh homegrown tomatoes and mozzarella – Mmmmm!

A Favorite Tune on my I-Pod – The Climb
My I-Pod is filled with so many different tunes. I have so many favorite songs – from very different artists - styles – and decades.
Here is one by Miley Cyrus – she’s young, but the words in her song sound like years of struggling through life.
“I can almost see it ~ that dream I’m dreaming but ~ there’s a voice inside my head saying ~ you’ll never reach it ~ Every step I’m taking ~ Every move I make ~ feels, lost with no direction ~ My faith is shaking ~ but I ~ I gotta keep trying ~ gotta keep my head held high ~ There’s always gonna be another mountain ~ I’m always gonna want to make it move ~ Always gonna be an uphill battle ~ Sometimes I’m gonna have to lose ~ Ain’t about how fast I get there ~ Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side ~ It’s the climb!”
These words motivate me in life ~ as a wife ~ mother ~ and Realtor -
I can almost see it
That dream I’m dreaming but
There’s a voice inside my head sayin,
You’ll never reach it,
Every step I’m taking,
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking but I
Got to keep trying
Got to keep my head held high
There’s always going to be another mountain
I’m always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes you going to have to lose,
Ain’t about how fast I get there,
Ain’t about what?s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb
The struggles I’m facing,
The chances I’m taking
Sometimes they knock me down but
No I’m not breaking
I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I’m going to remember most yeah
Just got to keep going
And I,
I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on, cause
There’s always going to be another mountain
I’m always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes I’m going to have to lose,
Ain’t about how fast I get there,
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb
There’s always going to be another mountain
I’m always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes you going to have to lose,
Ain’t about how fast I get there,
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb
Keep on moving
Keep climbing
Keep the faith baby
It’s all about
It’s all about
The climb
Keep the faith
Keep your faith
My Life as a Realtor – Day 31
My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 31:
An early start today since Joe, hubby hub, was leaving for Portugal! We packed his suitcase, then he did a few things around the yard – we had lunch, dropped off Amanda at a birthday party in the Candlewood Lake neighborhood and then made our way to Mt. Vernon. I got lucky and didn’t have to drive all the way to Newark Airport in New Jersey. Joe and our brother-in-law planned to leave on the same day, so, our nephew, Michael, drove them. Whew! I was really, REALLY greatful that I did not have to drive more than I did in the storm. Which, when we left New Fairfield, was just a simple sprinkle. Then we arrived in Mt. Vernon – where Frank was waiting for us – when we looked up at the sky, this is what we saw…

Yikes! We better move our tails – this looks scary!
As they frantically got their suitcases into Michael’s car, I couldn’t help but think I better hurry and say my goodbye’s since I had an almost hour ride ahead of me.

This is the lovely view when I approached the Cross County Parkway. I made it to the office to finish preparing for an evening CMA on condo to list for sale in Danbury.
When I left, I couldn’t help but think how nice, really, really nice these people were – I have been very fortunate lately with all my clients – they are awesome!
Zillow’s Zestimates
Zillow.com is a popular site for buyers looking for a home or sellers looking to sell their home. Alot of questions have been asked about Zillow’s Zestimates and how accurate they are.

Day 30:
Morning appointment – a CMA(Comparative Marketing Analysis) in Brewster. A lovely couple with a beautiful house looking to put it on the market – I can’t wait to share this with you!
Then – off to the office – just for a bit until it was time to show a home in New Fairfield – 3rd showing.

By now I was starving, so I treated myself to an iced coffee and an old fashioned donut at Dunkin Donuts in New Fairfield

Then it was time to shop for hubby hub – he’s leaving for Portugal… tomorrow!
So, I ran to Marshalls in Danbury …
and then to Sears at the Danbury Fair Mall.

I was able to buy all that was needed in both stores. Went home, made dinner – then back out to take photos of a foreclosure and to show a condo in Danbury.

Just think how an organized closet would help simplify ones life. You walk in – see exactly what you need – get it – done. Or… You walk in – don’t see what you need – waste precious time looking for it – saying a few “fudge” words while feeling your blood pressure rise – you finally find it, Yeah! But now your in a grouchy mood for the entire morning. To me, being organized is – Priceless!
My Life as a Realtor – Day 29
My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 29:
On this lovely day I had a ~ mammogram ~ Yup, I said it! Mount Kisco Medical Group in Brewster, NY- were fantastic! This was my first time and I can honestly say I will never hesitate to set up future appointments.
Since there were signed posted – no cell phone use! I had no other choice, but to put mine on vibrate – only checking my e-mail from time to time – and entertained myself by deleting photos from my camera – this helped to keep the jitters down.
After the good news that everything was A – OK – I was off to an appointment in New Fairfield – then home to grab my lap top – on my way to the office, I received the wonderful news that my clients offer on a foreclosure had been accepted – Yeah! I am so happy for them – they totally deserve this.
Our office had one Open House – CLICK to view – Colonial on cul-de-sac in Brewster
Then back home- where each time I drive in and out of my driveway – as well as my 2 kids that drive and Joe – we have Fo-Fo that refuses to move – he just stands in front of your car -
Fo-Fo – my in-laws pup ~ reason for my extra gray hairs
David made dinner – I went back out with Amanda to drop off some more brochures and other items for my listing in New Fairfield ~

My Life as a Realtor – Day 28
My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 28:
It felt good to sleep in this morning – especially since I had gone to bed at around 3 am and was woken at around 4 am by Fo-Fo, my in-laws pup that we’re watching while they’re in Portugal… for 3 months!! Ugh! I feel a migraine coming on.
Worked at home for a few hours – then off to the office – got a potential buyer call looking for land – printed some listing sheets for my clients to have in their home during showings and to put some in the brochure box which sits by the For Sale sign outside for any pass-byers that may have an interest in the home.

Stopped at A & P in Brewster – then dropped everything off with my clients – made dinner – hamburgers, hot dogs, pasta salad, beans and a salad. This was for hubby-hub since he leaves for Portugal on Friday and will not be having burgers and dogs for a few weeks – instead he’ll be eating lots of fish – yum for him – tuna in a can is the only fish I will eat. Sad, I know.
My Life as a Realtor – Day 27
What a day! David’s surgery was scheduled today – Putnam Hospital - and all went well – Thank God! Every one at the hospitalwas kind, courteous and kept his spirits up – and mine! His “coolie sinuses” are gone for good – no more infections to deal with. This is now David’s 2nd operation- he has had his appendix and gall bladder removed – he’s also already had a colonoscapy when doctor’s thought he had chrones disease – and… he is only 19 – a young man in an old mans body.
Hot diggity dog – he’s gonna kill me for posting this photo!!
David waiting to be taken to surgery
While David was in surgery, I was working away in the waiting room. I was glad that the hospital had wireless connection. Work kept me busy and helped calm my nerves!

When it was time to go home, David was feeling fine… until he got into the car. I guess the pain meds wore off – so I called our pharmacy – Rite Aid- to fill the pain meds prescription. The pharmacist said there was an hour wait, but to see her and she’d have it ready in 15 minutes! I seem to be meeting lots of kind people today… and I like that.
Rite Aid in Brewster
Then, I dropped David off – flew to New Fairfield’s Food Market to pick up dinner – I know, I don’t care much to order out, but today was an exception or we wouldn’t have eaten until after 8pm – Oh, who am I kidding – I love to order out – just hate the expense and that it isn’t as healthy as home cooking – and that is why we don’t order out much.
The Food Center
Quickly ate, then had hubby-hub help put Century 21 VJF For Sale signs together for my listing in New Fairfield – Went and put up 2 of them – one on the main road – Ball Pond Road – which fronts the house and another near their driveway.

And my last errand was a trip to Best Buy to buy season 1 & 2 of “House” for David – he had been looking forward to watching these episodes while recuperating. Before it got any later, I called a client from my car to set up an appointment to possibly list his home. Finally… home where I was up until around 3am – working.

Day 26:
It’s Sunday, Joe put up our new fan in the kitchen and the new shower head in the hall bath. I had a late morning appointment - starting in New Fairfield, then made our way into Brookfield, Newtown and ended in Bethel.
Newtown, CT – Cell Phone Pic
After dropping my clients off, I went home to start dinner – which David took over so that I could meet with the Virtual Tour photographer from Circle Pix. He took photos and video of my new listing in New Fairfield…

Day 23:
First thing in the am – office meeting. Met with mortgage brokers from Bank of America. The have a great website: CLICK
After many phone calls – setting up appointments – discussing an offer on a foreclosure – finding out what the hay is going on with a delayed closing – and killing my cell phone battery, it was time for an outing with my oldest daughter. Melissa and I had some mother, daughter time at the doctor’s office… the gynecologists! Dr. Cumella in Brewster - fun, fun!
I also made ANOTHER trip to Shaw’s Supermarket – they are making a mini-fortune off of me…

Then passed by New Fairfield Auto – who I would highly recommend to everyone! I to pick up Joe’s items in his car – since it’s totalled and will be towed away… Goodbye zoom-zoom.
