My Life as a Realtor – Day 70
My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 70:
A fairly easy day today – a few phone calls, e-mails and text messages. And yet, I seem to always be crazy busy - dragging myself to bed well after midnight and jumping back on the computer the second the kids are off to school – which is 7:30 am. I stop to tend to other things that need to get done – you know, the laundry, meals, cleaning,… Although, today, I had another day off from making dinner – David made Texas Jambalaya - he just added chicken instead of ham. It was delicious!

Day 66:
Friday – Yahoo! Important phone calls for a client first thing this morning – request for an appointment to view homes on Monday from another client and calls to an attorney and mortgage broker with concerns for 2 other clients. In the meantime, e-mails, searching, texting, and other calls. And, every so often, Joe would call me upstairs to take a picture of the progression of all his hard work in our master bath…
Tile going up…
adding decorative glass tile…
the final touch, stones that Joe hand picked this summer while in the beach in Portugal.
I went to Shaw’s – again – while waiting for an important call from a client. I also decided to make an Apple Tart – made with Apples, Cream Cheese, Honey and Puff Pastry. A recipe from ThePaperApron.com
I-Tune on my I-Pod – I Told You So
Another I-Tune on my I-Pod ~ “I Told You So” – performed by Carrie Underwood and Randy Travis
I first fell in love with this song when it was sung on American Idol – I just had to download it to my I-Pod.

Day 65:
A great day – Joe started the master bath renovation! I dealt with a few clients and their concerns – sometimes I wish I had a magic wand to make all their worries disappear! I don’t – so I do my best to listen – really listen – and help the best that I possibly can.

Goodbye old tile – sorry to say, you won’t be missed!
A trip to Shaws – dinner – picked up Jonathan from soccer practice – and worked until about 1:15 am. And, at about 1:30 in the morning, Fo-fo, my in-laws dog that we’ve been taking care of – since JUNE!!!!! – decided he was going to start barking at the wind. Lord, give me strength.

Day 64:
Wednesday – Hump Day! Even though I work 7 days a week, Hump Day is still a fav, but not as much as Friday’s! As a matter of fact, today is Friday – yet this post is about my Wednesday – confused? I know, but between work – the renovation of our kitchen and now bath - and my everyday home, kids and pets tasks… I have fallen behind.
With that said, Wednesday – was just an ordinary busy day. I love being able to work from home. I had received a text from my new client and spent some time searching and sending him listings – although, during that time, I multitasked and got a few other things done, hoping I could get to bed before 1am.
Joe drove all the way to Long Island – to his bosses house to pick up his tools – it took him 4 hours! But without his tools, he wouldn’t be able to start our master bath renovation tomorrow. For today, he made a gate so the pups could hang out on the back decks – although, I don’t have the heart to tell Joe that Tisha escaped on us today. She can be such a bad girl! It’s a good thing Remi came to me barking and making a fuss. He lead me right to the deck, scratching the gate – and I knew exactly what happened.

Day 63:
Joe and I made a trip to Home Depot in Brewster, NY. We have decided to renovate the master bath – Yahoo!
A very nice Fall display at Home Depot in Brewster
By using alot of materials that we already have – thinset, sheet rock, paint… Also, by using the same shower doors, toilet, mirror, vanity and cabinets – simply painting and changing the handles on them – will make a huge difference and keep our cost down.
Then back home – back to work and cleaning – cooking – and looking forward to watching the 2nd night of Dancing With the Stars!

One of the homes we viewed – Built in 1772
Then back home – many phone calls and e-mails to catch up on and soccer practice for Jon – and the 1st night of Dancing with the Stars!

Today is Bunco Day! The gals and I have been on summer break, but will resume our monthly Bunco Friday Game Night tonight. But first, lots of work – both at home and at work.
Bunco Night – Table # 1
Can’t believe that Fall is here!

Before Bunco, Amanda and I took off to Academy Marble & Granite in Bethel, CT to view some granite for our kitchen’s island.

Again, to save on cost, I called a few different place in and around Danbury, to see who would be more negotiable. Our next stop was to American Flag Granite & Stone in Danbury, CT.

We also stopped at Car City in Danbury to view some cars for Joe. Then hometo eat dinner – David made pork loin, mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables – Mmmmm!

Day 56:
Work, work, work – Clean, clean, clean – Kitchen looking really nice – I am still amazed at what a can of paint can do!

The wonderful news of the day came in the afternoon. My clients had put in an over-asking-price offer on a home in Southbury, CT. Unfortunately, another offer had came in a few hours earlier and the seller had accepted the it and signed the offer to purchase sheet – so, my clients offer became a back-up offer – until today. The listing agent called saying the deal fell through and the house was fully available!
A quick drive-by pic of Southbury, CT
My clients, the listing agent and I worked until well after 10pm – e-mailing, scanning, and faxing necessary documents to make sure we stay in the lead. Real Estate can be very exciting!

Day 53:
OK – Saturday – Joe is moving quickly with our kitchen renovation – we – or he – is painting the kitchen cabinets – Glidden’s Linen White – and a few more touches – real, real inexpensive and I can’t believe the difference already!

Today I was Joe’s right hand man – went to Home Depot in Brewster, NY for a few things…
Home Depot in Brewster, NY
Then to HomeDepot in Danbury, CT for a few more things…

Then to A & P in Brewster, NY for MORE groceries and MORE mums – hey, for $4 each, I couldn’t resist!

Throughout the day, I e-mailed and spoke with clients – then, Hubby-Hub and I – and my sis Lisa and brother-in-law, Richie – went out to dinner to the Portuguese Cultural Center in Danbury, CT – Caravela Restaurant. Good food, good wine, really good company!
