My Life as a Realtor – Day 191
My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 191:
Thursday….
Worked from home – Remi loves following me around. Here, he beat me to the bottom of the steps…
Remi was staring at the snow – an unexpected storm had blown in and dumped a few inches…
Schools were dissmissed early and after the snow ended, Ma and I went to Macy’s to return a few items in the shoe department…
Then back home to find David making dinner again – Ma and I are getting spoiled!
My Life as a Realtor – Day 190
My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 190:
Wednesday! Stopped by the office, then a trip to the bank and A&P in Brewster, NY. I couldn’t believe how many seagulls there was in the parking lot…
Then Ma and I grabbed some lunch and it was back home to get some work done before my meeting with Network for Free. This evening, we had a Speed Networking event in Danbury, CT. We grouped into two’s – had a few minutes to exchange business cards and discuss what we did. I met a fellow Realtor, some Tech and Marketing people, an Antique Restorations person and many more! During this time, we were taken aside and given a few minutes to shoot a video with Mike Evans – Digital Video Productions – and discuss what we do and offer to the public. I can’t wait to see mine to see if what I asked for was done – take 10 pounds and 10 years off my appearance – LOL!
Leader of our group – Scott Blanchard – Loan Officer – Mortgage Force Newtown, CT
The event was held at PES – Plaza Executive Suites and what a wonderful evening it was!

Then purchased some wood pellets at Dom’s Garden Center…
After going to Burlington Coat Factory, we did some grocery shopping at A&P in Danbury…
Then, back home and back to work!

My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 188:
Quiet day today after a busy day yesterday. Did some work from home - I am always trying to catch up which is not always easy with all the distractions I have at home. Here is Moe goofing around – he was trying to hide from Remi…
Although Remi always knows where Moe is since he tends to sleep with one eye open…
And then there was Tisha – who decided to bother Cha-Cha…
Even with all my distractions, I love working from home – especially days like today. It poured all day long! Here is our stream – which was overflowing in the back yard…

Inexpensive Ways to Wow Buyers
If your looking to put your home on the market, here are some great tips from Realtor Magazine ~
10 Inexpensive Ways to Wow Buyers…
Ten Inexpensive Ways to Wow Buyers
Now is the time for home owners contemplating a spring sale to spruce up their properties in anticipation of what Mike Larson of Weiss Research calls a potentially vibrant home-selling season. “If you have been beating your head against a wall, this is going to feel a lot better,” he jokes.
Here are 10 cheap ways to make a property more attractive to shoppers.
- Improve first impressions. Touch up the paint on the front door and other areas that buyers see first.
- Clean up the landscaping. Trim the hedges and trees and plant some annuals in the flowerbeds.
- Paint the interior. A coat of light yellow or cream with contrasting white woodwork looks fresh and clean.
- Refurbish the floors. Buff the hardwoods. Install new carpets – or at least get them professionally cleaned.
- Take care of the big problems. If the house needs a roof or the front stoop is crumbling, get them fixed.
- Buy warranties. Putting appliances under warranty gives homebuyers a secure feeling.
- Improve energy efficiency. New windows or improved insulation tell a potential buyer the seller is on top of things plus they come with tax benefits.
- Replace light fixtures. Updated fixtures, especially at the entrance way and in the foyer, create a good first impression.
- Buy a stove. Home owners whose kitchen isn’t top of the line can jazz it up for a few hundred dollars by buying a new stove, which gives the room a fresh feel.
- Tidy up the bathrooms. Get rid of mildew, replace caulking and replace stained sinks.

Day 176:
It’s Wednesday – Court day for my oldest – Melissa – in Bridgeport, CT…
Melissa had a car accident during a nor’easter – going down a hill, she skidded and her tire came off – !!! – and ended up under her car. No damage to anything – or anyone Thank God. She was very shaken up – and to add to her nerves, a police officer gave her a ticket! He said no matter how slow she was going – it wasn’t slow enough.
We left home at 7:45 for 9am court time - we waited on a very long line until it was time to see a court rep. We chatted with another mother and daughter and found out that her daughter had been cut off and ended up hitting a guard rail. A good samaritan called the police – an officer arrived and also gave her a ticket!! What the heck! When it was finally Melissa’s turn to be seen, she was told to come back in a months time with proof that she had insurance on the date of the accident! That was also the reason the mother and daughter were there, she too had been told to came back to show proof of insurance – very frustrating!
We took our time driving home – I made a few phone calls – we stopped at Dunkin Donuts – I had Melissa text a few people since I was driving – and then we had lunch. Afterwards, I met clients at a home in New Fairfield, CT . Here I am on my way to the home…
About 10 minutes after arriving home, the Sears repair man arrived to fix my washer – Yeah! It took him about 10 minutes – unbelievable!
