My Life as a Realtor – Day 175
My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 175:
At the top of our list of things to do today is - LAUNDRY! My mother and I took 8 loads to Laundry Plus in Brewster, NY – about 15 minutes from home.
We put everything to wash and took off to A&P for some grocery shopping – a few phone calls and e-mails came in during our adventure at the laundry mat!
After shopping, we went back to the laundry mat – threw everything into dryers and then went for a quick lunch – also in the same shopping center. Came back – folded and left to get gas and a stop at the Brewster Post Office.
My Life as a Realtor – Day 174
My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 174:
Monday – and I have a Doctors appointment today in Mt. Kisco with the Mt. Kisco Medical Group. Usually, I’m seen in the Southeast office which is only about 20 minutes away, but it’s good to know that if someone needs to be seen right away, between both offices, you can get an appointment.
Before leaving, I had to drop off Sara at school and noticed the tree that was full of snow last week is bare now…
I have no idea why I noticed this and why I’m mentioning it – ??
After my doctor’s appointment, my mother and I stopped to do some laundry in Brewster, NY at Laundry Plus. My washer is only 10 months old and it’s not working – Hmmm… maybe it has something to do with the fact that I wash 4 to 6 loads a day! Well, we are a family of 7 and with my mom here visiting from Portugal for a few months – that makes 8 – so loads and loads of wash that I do a day is just inevitable. Having no washer for a few days is just impossible, so I decided to try out a laundry mat…
We washed one large load, just to try it out and decided to come back tomorrow with more after seeing that it is a clean, large, bright place with many washers – 4 different sizes – and dryers – as well as a television and sofas to sit and relax.
Home Buyer Tax Credit Information
Homebuyer Tax Credit Information…
I just came across a great site that has information on understanding the homebuyer tax credit – Do you qualify? Is this just for first time homebuyers? When is the deadline?
This site answers these questions and more. The best part is there is an Eligibility Test to see if you can take advantage of this credit.

Both are on my clients list and both were a pleasure to show!

Day 172:
It’s a sunny – but cold – Saturday morning and I have an appointment in Brewster, NY.
My clients, which are first time home buyers, have a closing scheduled for next week and came over to the home to go over a few things with the current owners. One item on their list was to go through the plantings around the property. We walked through the snow and I could only imagine how beautiful the landscaping will be in the Spring. For today, we froze while tracking through the snow…

Office Meeting today – the first for 2010 – at Century 21 VJF Realty. It was nice seeing everyone and enjoyed some breakfast and catching up…
I ended up saving my bagel with cream cheese for lunch…
After our meeting, I stayed and did some work – then back home - Faith drove once again – and I am the luckiest gal since I have my mom – a minnie me – at home - cleaning, cooking and caring for the kids and pets. As I said in yesterday’s post… “It’s a Wonderful Life”

CLOSING DAY for my client!!
The closing was held in Carmel, NY at Attorney William Shillings office. Here are a few pics I took as I drove in Carmel…
Just a few minutes away from the attorney’ s office – I can see “The Retreat” on the horizon
and the Historic Putnam Court House
After the closing, my client was extremely excited and it was also exciting for me to be a part of this. As we said our goodbyes, I noticed a plaque on the wall…

My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 168:
It is only the beginning of winter and I am already wishing for Spring to come quickly!
Although, there are some benefits to the winter season…. snow! Today, I had a final walk-thru with my client. Making sure all was well with the home before taking over ownership. He is a first time home buyer, purchasing on his own and what a great house he is purchasing with loads of potential. During the walk-thru, which was in the evening, we noticed some foot – or more like paw prints in the snow. There were 3 different types and we tried to figure out if one belonged to a cat, maybe another to a deer and a racoon??
My client is a NYC PO – I am sure he will soon figure it out!
My Life as a Realtor – Day 167
My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 167:
It’s Monday! Younger 3 are back to school. Although we did have a 2 hour delay due to all the snow we had yesterday – and the kids and I were very grateful for the extra time.
I played catch-up with work and did a few things around the house. Even though Melissa and David were home, they were up in their rooms and that made it feel as though I had the house to myself… and Remi… and Tisha… and Moe…. and the rest of our pets. Who am I kidding? I am never alone!
Although Tisha just sleeps all day!
I keep looking at our tree, and little by little the ornaments have been moved to the top of the tree since Remi has taken and destroyed about 10 of them. So, I plan on leaving it up until Sunday…

Day 166:
I’m still putting things away from our New Years Eve and New Years Day party. It’s Sunday, last vacation day for my younger 3. My older 2 are off from college until the end of the month.
It snowed all day long here in New Fairfield, CT…
So, we all had a lazy day Sunday… well, all except for me! I worked and cleaned, sent a few e-mails, made a few calls. Remi decided he was going to start early and help put away some of our Christmas decorations. Although his “helping” isn’t exactly helpful…
Poor Santa…

Holidays are over – Whew! The New Year is here and it’s looking good – Thank God.
Worked for a bit, a tiny bit, then my mother, sister and I went out for some shopping and lunch….
Our first stop was Kohl’s in Danbury…
Then to a yummy lunch at Apple Bee’s….
Our last stop was to one of my favorite stores, HomeGoods!

Happy New Years Day and Welcome 2010!!!
I am hopeful that I can say goodbye to 2009 and Welcome a better year in 2010!
Most of my guests from yesterday came back today. We ate and chatted and then went into the den to watch “Four Christmases” with Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn…
What a funny and entertaining movie. Everyone enjoyed the movie – young and old. What a nice way to start off the New Year!

I LOVE Chicken – cooked, baked, fried, BBQ’d… any way and everyday if that’s all I had to eat! I am glad that I don’t have to raise – ax - and pluck them! My mother-n-law goes to Portugal every summer for about 4 months. During this time, she will raise…. and cook fresh chickens. I know this is the way they end up in the supermarkets and on my table, but if I ever had to do that - I don’t think I could ever eat chicken again! There just too darn cute…
