My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 244:
Monday – thankfully I have internet service – it had been down from Saturday morning until Sunday evening! I am also thankful for this beautiful weather we have been having. Ma and I went about on our errands. At the top of our list is always food shopping – so off to A&P in Danbury we went!
This weekend, Joe and the kids did alot of yard work…

After dinner, I drove Amanda to the High School to pick up a book…

I have alot of work to do – and… Dancing with the Stars starts tonight!!
Philadelphia Cream Cheese

So many recipes from Kraft Foods that include delicious cream cheese. My family spreads it on toasted home-made bread or english muffins with some grape or strawberry jam – adds it to mashed potatoes – dip – cake mixes – or on a yummy treat… Chocolate Chip cookies with a spoon full of cream cheese – Ohhh so – so good!

Appointment today – back to the office to do some work – then met with my clients in New Fairfield to view many lovely homes – a few on Ball Pond and Candlewood Lake – and what a wonderful day it was to view homes with water views!
My evening appointment was canceled, so it was back home for a wonderful dinner!

Saturday – appointment day in Danbury. Stopped at the office to meet with my clients. We viewed a few new listings and 2 listings for the 2nd time. One of their favorites was near Richter Park Golf Course…
Afterwards, I went back to the office to get ready for tomorrow’s appointments. After dinner, Melissa, Sara and I went to see Amanda in the The Music Man at the New Fairfield High School…
It was an awesome show and we are so proud of Amanda!

Friday - Show day for Amanda at the New Fairfield High School!
For me, it was work – work – work! Much to do to get ready for another busy weekend!
Tonight was also Bunco night for me – it was at my sister’s house, so Ma came along to play and won $10! She had a blast and didn’t complain she was tired once! I’m so proud of her

This morning I did as much work as I possibly could before my sister picked my mom and I up for an afternoon out.
Our road trip took us past Lake Zoar and the Stevenson Dam in Stevenson CT…
Then to DWS Shoes in Orange CT…
I was like a kid in a candy shop – but I behaved and didn’t buy anything 
Then we made our way back to Danbury CT for some delicious pizza and… food shopping! Thanks to my sister, I – for the very 1st time – shopped at Trader Joe’s…
Afterwards, we took a quick peek in Annie Sez…
Then my sis took the scenic way home – through the Aunt Hack area in Danbury passing Richter Park…

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!
Joe and I started dating on St. Patrick’s Day – 26 years ago – Whew! How time flies – really!
Today, I went nowhere and it felt good. I was able to remain focused on my work and sometimes I can’t believe how many hours I can spend on the computer without taking a bathroom break!

Lot’s of work to do again today and I’m happy to report that the rain and clouds are gone and it is an absolute gorgeous day!! Spring isn’t until Saturday, although it has arrived today – Yeah!

As I made my way to the office, I realized quickly that I was over dressed. This happens every Spring - I’m afraid of being cold, so I still wear turtle necks and coats and sweat my buns off!
After going to the office, I stopped at A&P in Brewster – yes, FOOD SHOPPING AGAIN!
When I arrived home, my mom and David had made a wonderful dinner – our very 1st barbecue of the season – and – we even ate outside…

It’s Monday – a day to catch up on work since I was out all weekend showing homes – how wonderful!
Even though I made a quick trip to the A&P in Brewster yesterday in-between appointments, I had to go grocery shopping again today – gosh, if I only had the past 10 years of what I’ve spent on food – I’d be rich!
So, a quick trip to Shaws – and to buy pellets – gas up David’s car – back home and back to work until it was time to deliver Amanda’s dinner at school while she continues with theatre practice for the big show this coming weekend at New Fairfield High School!

Rain, rain go away…
A very rainy Saturday as I met with new clients in Brewster NY. We viewed a total of 5 homes and I was soaked as I made my way to the office to wait for appointment #2 – which happen to be with a very good friend of mine. We viewed 3 homes and had a ball – wet and all!

Yahoo – everyone knows I love my Fridays! Today, I got a kick out of watching Remi watching Tisha. First, he noticed her near the couch…
Then he watched her carefully going around the couch…
and finally, after he whined and made noise loud enough so that she would look up at him…
Remi loves Tisha so very much – she, on the other hand, has a kind of love for him that comes and goes – it’s only when she feels like it. She’s tiny, but she is the boss and can be feisty if he pushes her!
Then, Ma and I went to Shaws for some grocery shopping and recycling…

It is Thursday and once again – busy, busy – can’t seem to catch up – but loving every single minute of being a Realtor. I have a busy weekend coming up and I am looking forward to it! Especially since I will be meeting new clients.
Today, Ma and I took a trip to Brookfield, CT - to my brother’s house.
I love that this warmer weather is bringing more little critters out and about. At home, we always make sure to have our bird feeders filled – especially in the winter months. The pic above is one of my brothers bird houses.
This bird feeder is the most used of all of our birds - I wonder if it is the house shape – since our other feeders are round and boxy shaped – Hmm??
After a quick visit with my sister-n-law and the kids, Ma and I stopped at Walmart…
Then back home and back to work until it was time to drop off dinner again for Amanda…
And once again, back home and back to work!

I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday – aka Garbage Day! Ma – along with the pups - helped me bring all the garbage and recycling down. You could imagine how much rubbish a family of 7 + Ma = 8 can make!
Then it was work, work, work and a quick trip to Shaws – and yes, you can also imagine how much food a family of 8 can consume!

Today is Tax Day! My accountant’s office is in Rutherford, NJ – and he is worth the ride. My mother and I went and she snapped a few photos of our drive over the Tappan Zee Bridge…
It was late afternoon when we arrived home – then it was time for errands – picked up Melissa after her shift at Sprinkles in New Fairfield…
and a trip to New Fairfield High School to drop off dinner for Amanda. She has been practicing for the upcoming Spring play. A few more errands – then dinner – back out to pick up Amanda from practice and finally – time to work!

Sunday! Jonathan went to the Danbury Fair Mall yesterday with friends and finally got a much needed hair cut. He slept over one of his friend’s house and came home this morning. I snapped the pic of him while gushing over his new hair doo…
Then, back to work – an Open House on one of my listings ~ 2A Hudson Drive – New Fairfield CT ~ **CLICK to VIEW** . My sellers have renovated the 2nd floor and it looks fantastic!

A busy and great work day today. Received 2 referrals within an hour of each other! Both are lovely couples and I look forward to meeting and working with them!
The weather was beautiful and the pups loved it – here is Remi on the deck…
I can’t wait until summer so I can lay out here and attempt getting a tan – Ha! I’m laughing since every year I pick a day when everyone is out – so I don’t have to torture them by seeing me in a bathing suit – then tear myself away from chores and work – drag the lounge chair to a perfect sun position – make sure I have my cell, water and I-Pod – and after minutes of getting a some-what comfortable position, I begin to feel the warm sun doing it’s thing…. and then, the BUGS start arriving – buzzing and landing on me – phone calls and e-mails also start coming through on my cell – I have to keep sitting up and stopping my I-Pod because I think I keep hearing someone ringing the doorbell. After about half an hour of this – of which by now I’m sweating like a piglet and have said a few not-so-nice words! I decide I’ll just live with my pale complexion and not complain!

As a full time REALTOR in Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties in NEW YORK – and Fairfield and parts of Litchfield counties in CONNECTICUT , I am very pleased to have the opportunity to share my passions on REAL ESTATE, FAMILY, PETS, anything and everything in and around a HOME – including COOKING, MOVIES, MUSIC and more!
I have been married for 25+ years to my wonderful husband Joe. We have 5 children – Melissa, David, Amanda, Sara and Jonathan. After waiting anxiously – for almost 17 years, being home with my kids for 10 and a Nursery school teacher for 7 years – I FINALLY became a Licensed Realtor – first in Connecticut - where my family and I live – and then in New York – where my office, Century 21 V.J.F. Realty is located.
I was born and raised in Mt. Vernon, New York. My parents, who came to the US from Portugal, were extremely hard working – with even stronger ethics on being good to everyone – everywhere – period! “Faz bem, nao olhes a quem.” This has been instilled in me all my life, which has made me the mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend and the REALTOR I am today.
