Sherman, Connecticut

Sherman, Connecticut - incorporated in 1802, is a quaint small town with an estimated population of 4,110. It is always a pleasure to show homes there.

Sherman neighbors the towns of New Fairfield and New Milford, CT along with Putnam County in New York.

Sherman has a lake community with homes, beach areas and docks on Candlewood Lake. The scenery also includes rolling mountain views and farmland along with it’s historic center of town. On Route 37 the popular American Pie sits – a delicious family restaurant that also has pies, breads, cakes – and meals to go that taste just like they’re homemade!

Call or e-mail for all available homes in Sherman… Won’t You Be My Neighbor?
Milltown Road – Brewster, NY
Milltown Road in Southeast/Brewster, NY is my direct route to work and back home – as is for many Connecticut residents going into New York. It’s approximately 8 miles long, and about 6 of those miles are in New York – starting at Route 22 in Brewster and the remaining 2 miles are in Connecticut – ending at Route 39 in New Fairfield.
Historic Milltown is one of the earliest settlements in the town and contains many significant older homes that are in Southeast – which was founded in 1788.
There are other roads to take, but Milltown Road is the only road for me – especially with all the wonderful things there are along the way to view.

LIFE AS A REALTOR – Realtor Open House Day (5)
In Westchester County last Thursday, Carolyn – an associate Realtor in my office - and I saw some magnificent homes!
Our first home, currently on the market for $12,500,000 in BEDFORD - NY,was an 1927 Georgian Manor house built with original bricks from a 16th Century English Estate. With over 23 acres, a pool, barn, twin gate houses and a multi car garage – we were in awe while viewing every room, including the maids quarters, attic and we even dared to view the basement! All the while wondering – Oh! – If These Walls Could Talk.
We moved onto a lovely Country House in POUND RIDGE, NY. This home was built in 1958 and designed by Livingston Elder. With over 2 acres, a pool, fruit trees and overlooking the Ward Pound Ridge Preserve, making this home a private oasis. It is currently on the market for $1,395,000.
Last, but not least, we viewed another home in Pound Ridge, The Byron Stratton House - a Historical Pound Ridge Landmark. This Colonial, with over 6,000 square feet on over 6 acres, was originally buit in Connecticut, then brought over and rebuilt in it’s current position in 1934. With 6 working fireplaces, a library, conservatory, gymnasium, pool, gazebo and pond - this home is a true gem. It is currently listed for $3,999,900.
Historic Fowler House – Carmel, NY
Another wonderful Realtor Open House Day. Carolyn and I made our way from East Fishkill, NY to Carmel, NY – leaving the best for last!
The Historic Fowler House, built in 1739, is a 5,410 square foot Farm House on 1.460 acres – holds 5 bedrooms, 2 full baths, 8 fireplaces and loads of history. Much of this homes original features still stand – from the trim work, windows, stagecoach mounting block and it’s very own ice house.
