My 2nd appointment was with new clients looking in the Somers - North Salem - Katonah NY area. We viewed 4 homes and I’m looking forward to working with them! Here is what we viewed…
Snapped a photo at our last house of these feathery friends sharing some seeds and enjoying these awesome views from the homes breakfast area.
My last appointment was for a CMA – Comparative Marketing Analysis – in Somers NY at Heritage Hills – also new clients and I love this beautiful and very large complex!
A very rainy Saturday as I met with new clients in Brewster NY. We viewed a total of 5 homes and I was soaked as I made my way to the office to wait for appointment #2 – which happen to be with a very good friend of mine. We viewed 3 homes and had a ball – wet and all!
Here is a list of the homes I viewed with my first appointment…
My 2nd appointment included a Historic home in Patterson NY. I always enjoy viewing older homes and seeing each and every detail and wondering how families first lived there…
I arrived home in the evening – just in time for a great dinner that my son David made. Then, computer work and got myself ready for tomorrow’s appointment.
On Sunday, I showed many homes through-out Danbury, CT with 2 wonderful clients.
We started out late morning – meeting at the office in Brewster, NY - Century 21 VJF Realty. It was still chilly – then the day began to warm up with sunny, blue skies…
Here is a Public View list of the homes we visited today…
A total of 10 homes that we viewed – with the exception of one that was only viewed from the exterior due to a lose pup in the house! Price ranges were form $339,900 to $450,000
Today is Realtor Open House Day. Carolyn was so kind to set up all the homes we were going to view – along with a Pre-Revolutionary 1732 Homestead that was not on the Open House list, but we were very anxious to pre-view for potential clients. But first, before our fun afternoon, I went to the New Fairfield Post Office, then the New Fairfield Hardware store – Joe needed some caulking for repairs he’s doing to our front doors.

Views from rear terrace of apple & peach orchard, gardens and access to a spectacular 90′ waterfall
After viewing this wonderful home from the basement to the attic – and having a tasty lunch – Eva, Carolyn and I were off down Quaker Hill which is on the edge of the Connecticut and New York border and is recognized for its History and beautiful views including horse farms…
With full tummy’s – we made our way to Patterson, NY to view another home – 42 Jordan Drive – Patterson, NY ~ CLICK ~ to View Listing Sheet - the listing agent is another Realtorfriend – Jeannine. This cozy home is cute as a button and has had many updates making it a move-in ready home.Offered at $189,000.
Then I was off, solo, to Southbury, CT – to meet with an appraisor for clients purchasing their first home. I arrived about an hour early – so, what do you think I did in the meantime…
Yup, I went food shopping… again! It seems that everyday I need something – today it was water bottles and something for dinner. I ended up filling my cart – nothing new since I always take full advantage of items that are on sale.
I put up my Century 21 VJF Realty For Sale Sign and looked like a wet dog by the time I was done. I did have a good laugh when I looked in the rear view mirror and notice my mascara had run!
52Mountain Brook Dr – Brewster, NY
Now this spaciously – recently updated home with beautiful property and in-ground swimming pool is just off of Milltown Road in Brewster, NY and minutes to Route 22 and I-684.

Another busy day – I’m getting behind in my posts and that makes me unhappy.
Being busy is appreciated – and I really don’t know how to sit still!
On this 51st day, I did alot of driving around with our little rental car from Enterprise- Chevy Colbat
Since Joe has decided to paint our kitchen cabinets- yes, I know, I had said I was going to do it during his visit in Portugal – but never did! So, off to Home Depot in Danbury I went…
Bought some paint, primer and brushes
Dropped everything off at home where Joe had already started to remove cabinets, hinges, knobs and sanding everything down. I then dashed to Shaws for more grocery shopping….
Ran home, made lunch, made phone calls, sent e-mails, made appointments and was so excited about our kitchen redo!
Our “before” pics – dated 1970′s Kitchen Cabinets
Joe priming & removing cabinets
And to add to all of my excitment – I have a new listing!
Rain, rain, rain… It came down as a heavy downpour and for quite awhile – flooding was everywhere, road blocks were up and even torn up roadways – it was crazy! And where was I in this mess – ?? Putting up a new sign in front of my Brookfield listing.
Before going to Brookfield – I went to our bank – HSBC in Brewster. Then off to show a condo in Danbury – here’s the pretty water view in the complex – where it had just started to rain.
After the sign was up, I went home – which took about 45 minutes instead of 15 due to the storm. I picked up my youngest, Jonathan, and took him to the local barber – Roberts Barber Shop near the New FairfieldPost Office. They always take their time and do a great job – better yet, with my crazy schedule, walk-ins are welcome. Then off to Shaw’s and… I couldn’t resist – since Joe is in Portugal – we had Chinese for dinner – Yum!
An early start today since Joe, hubby hub, was leaving for Portugal! We packed his suitcase, then he did a few things around the yard – we had lunch, dropped off Amanda at a birthday party in the Candlewood Lake neighborhood and then made our way to Mt. Vernon. I got lucky and didn’t have to drive all the way to Newark Airport in New Jersey. Joe and our brother-in-law planned to leave on the same day, so, our nephew, Michael, drove them. Whew! I was really, REALLY greatful that I did not have to drive more than I did in the storm. Which, when we left New Fairfield, was just a simple sprinkle. Then we arrived in Mt. Vernon – where Frank was waiting for us – when we looked up at the sky, this is what we saw…
Yikes! We better move our tails – this looks scary!
As they frantically got their suitcases into Michael’s car, I couldn’t help but think I better hurry and say my goodbye’s since I had an almost hour ride ahead of me.
This is the lovely view when I approached the Cross County Parkway. I made it to the office to finish preparing for an evening CMA on condo to list for sale in Danbury.
When I left, I couldn’t help but think how nice, really, really nice these people were – I have been very fortunate lately with all my clients – they are awesome!
First thing in the am – office meeting. Met with mortgage brokers from Bank of America. The have a great website: CLICK
After many phone calls – setting up appointments – discussing an offer on a foreclosure – finding out what the hay is going on with a delayed closing – and killing my cell phone battery, it was time for an outing with my oldest daughter. Melissa and I had some mother, daughter time at the doctor’s office… the gynecologists! Dr. Cumella in Brewster - fun, fun!
I also made ANOTHER trip to Shaw’s Supermarket – they are making a mini-fortune off of me…
Then passed by New Fairfield Auto – who I would highly recommend to everyone! I to pick up Joe’s items in his car – since it’s totalled and will be towed away… Goodbye zoom-zoom.
Busy day – appointment in Patterson – a church built in 1874 and turned into a residential home in the 1970′s.
Then off to a Doctor’s appointment in Carmel – David will need surgery – scheduled for Monday.
David – waiting to see the Doctor
Next, appointment in New Milford – to view an over-sized Cape. My clients and I then went to their home, in New Fairfield - where I took photos and information to put their home on the market.
This past Wednesday, Realtor Open HouseDay took me to 3 beautiful homes - the 1st inNew Fairfield, CT- the 2nd in Holmes, NY and the 3rd in Patterson, NY. It was a beautiful day, we had great food, good conversation and 3 more homes I’d like to share with you and my clients!

This past Saturday, I viewed a lovely 3 bdrm, 2 bath home on quiet street in Putnam Lake – Patterson, NY. This light & bright home has a large deck overlooking a level yard with an above ground pool. The open floor plan is great for entertaining and a walkout Lower Level has a family room and full bath – which makes it possible for a Mother/Daughter home or a great summer house!
On Tuesday, I made my way into Patterson, NY to the Patterson Town Hall. I needed to get a copy of a survey for a client of mine. Everyone in the town hall was very pleasant and quick to help.
Yesterday was Realtor Open House Day in Putnam County. Here is one of the homes I viewed in Patterson, NY- It’s been renovated inside and out – ready to just move right in!

Driving back from an appointment, I passed Putnam Lake in Patterson, NY. My first thought was about how beautiful the lake looked – blue and not frozen! Then I noticed…
DUCKS!
At first, they began to come towards me – when I raised my cell phone to take a photo, they turned and started going the opposite way. Then, all I said was, “Hey Baby” – and they quickly scurried across the water and started to fly away! Gosh!
Next time, I’ll just take the picture and keep my big mouth shut!
Currently, we are in a “down” market. But… “What goes down, must come up!” – right? Many people know this of course, and have only one question - When will the market start going up?

This answer can vary, depending on the state and city or town - and on the type of home – single family, condo/townhomes or new construction.
Some areas believe they have reached the bottom and there is only one way to go from there – UP!

In the areas that I service – Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess Counties in New York and Fairfield and parts of Litchfield Counties in Connecticut – I can honestly say that I am busy. Many of my clients are aware that the high volume of inventory, low prices that are still negotiable – along with LOW INTEREST RATES – and the $8,000 tax credit – if it applies – makes it a FANTASTIC TIME TO BUY!
So, don’t catch yourself in the future saying, “Ishould have bought that house.”
I promise to do my best…

While waiting for clients in front of a home we were scheduled to view in Hopewell Junction, NY – a hamlet of East Fishkill – I looked up and couldn’ t believe how beautiful the sky looked!
My clients went on to purchasing the home and now get to look up and see this wonder very often!
As a full time REALTOR in Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties in NEW YORK – and Fairfield and parts of Litchfield counties in CONNECTICUT , I am very pleased to have the opportunity to share my passions on REAL ESTATE, FAMILY, PETS, anything and everything in and around a HOME – including COOKING, MOVIES, MUSIC and more!
I have been married for 25+ years to my wonderfulhusband Joe. We have 5 children – Melissa, David, Amanda, Sara and Jonathan. After waiting anxiously – for almost 17 years, being home with my kids for 10 and a Nursery school teacher for 7 years – I FINALLY became a Licensed Realtor – first in Connecticut - where my family and I live – and then in New York – where my office, Century 21 V.J.F. Realty is located.
I was born and raised in Mt. Vernon, New York. My parents, who came to the US from Portugal, were extremely hardworking – with even stronger ethics on being goodtoeveryone – everywhere – period! “Faz bem, nao olhes a quem.” This has been instilled in me all my life, which has made me the mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend and the REALTOR I am today. Thank You Ma and Papa.
