Diana’s Neighborhood

Real Estate in New York & Connecticut – Won’t you be my neighbor?

I TWITTER… do you?

OK everyone – I admit it… I twit tweets to my tweeps on TWITTER!  and I LOVE it!twitter

I first started a Twitter account almost 1-1/2 years ago – which is FREE – for networking purposes.  It enabled me to get in touch with other Realtors across the country and read about how they work while assisting buyers and sellers – what sites they found useful – like Active Rain, what cameras they were using – like my wonder FLIP Camera and many other helpful adviceWe share stories of our lives as Realtors both in the office and at home – give advice, support and from time to time  - we “Twit” to vent.  Now my Twitter account has grown to over 1,200 people that are “Following” me and an almost equal amount that I “Follow” – including mortgage brokers, friends, family, News sites, some of my favorite shows and clients!  TWITTER is FANTASTIC!!

Watch your kitchen come alive with the cool color of Jade Green.

From Wikipedia

Jade is a saturated, slightly bluish green. The name comes from the gemstone called jade, although the stone varies widely in hue.

In Chinese culture, if one wishes to express one’s love for someone, one gives them something made of the gemstone jade or an object that is colored jade.

Fireworks - thedamian                                                         thedamian – Flickr.com

I am really looking forward to this 4th of July’s Barbecue.  We have always had family over for New Years Eve and New Years Day – 23 years and running!  We’ve added a few more holidays since moving to Connecticut – Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve ~ and 4th of July!

Here in Connecticut, Fireworks are allowed – of course the legal ones that can be purchased in the local Super Markets and stores, which tend to be colorful and make more of POP-POP sound than the KABOOM ones seen at Fireworkshows.  Non the less, the kids ~ and adults ~ love it!  We wait until dark and have a BLAST! and, during that entire time – no pesty mosquitoes or bats flying over us!

Please remember to BE SAFE – Here are some Fireworks Safety Tips from Examiner.com

Salon Michele – Newtown Connecticut – Hair Donation

Recently, my daughters and I donated our hair for Locks for Love – all 4 of us!

014                                                                     Amanda – Before…

My daughter, Amanda – 17, donated 15 inches of her hair during Relay for Life – which was held at the New Fairfield High School

208                                                                  Amanda – After!

A few days later, my daughters Melissa – 20 and Sara – soon to be 16 – along with myself – had our hair cut to be donated to Locks for Love

A client of mine, Kathy, graciously told me that her salon participates in Locks for Love – so off we went to Salon Michele in Newtown, Connecticut – conveniently located just off Exit 10 on I-84.

Samantha took good care of us -

221                                   Melissa was next - who hasn’t had her hair cut short since she was a baby!

220                                            Sara was last but not least, she donated the most!

First, Samantha cut the inches of hair we would be donating  – then washing – then giving all three of us a very chic haircut and then styling.  A full treatment!

222                                                               Melissa was all smiles!
