12 Days of Christmas for Home Sellers
Here’s a different take on 12 Days of Christmas from a Realtor for Home Sellers…
My Life as a Realtor – Day 158
My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 158:
It’s Saturday and Christmas is over – now time to get ready for New Years! Both New Years Eve and New Years Day will be at our home – a tradition for the past 23 years since Joe and I got married. Still not sure of the exact number of guests, but it will be a full house!
Yesterday, we came home in ice rain, which caused me to slip and slide a bit. This morning, we woke up to a slushy driveway. Joe had fun cleaning it though – he never complains about using the plow.
I caught up on work since I hadn’t some much in the past 2 days - and got the house back in order. All the new clothes got washed, gifts put away and boxes and wrapping paper thrown out.
Remi spent the day enjoying his new green toy…
and Tisha loved posing in her new pink sweater…
Now, time to start making my menu for New Years.

Day 157:
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!
The kids woke us up and made us a wonderful breakfast. Then it was time to head into the livingroom where our tree is…
and open our gifts…
even Remi had a few treats…
After opening gifts, we went into the Den, Joe made a fire and we looked in a stockings. Afterwards, he spotted a buck far in the woods…
Then, we got ourselves ready and made our way to my brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Manny & Gina’s house in Mt. Vernon, NY. While Joe drove, I text and e-mailed clients – past and present – to wish them a Very Merry Christmas!

We ate, and ate… and ate. Then it was time to go upstairs by the Christmas Tree…
and Baby Jesus…
We opened more gifts and then took a few more family photos. Here is my hubby’s sister and brother…

Day 156:
Happy Christmas Eve!!!
We were all invited to go to my brother’s house in Brookfield, CT for our Christmas Eve dinner, opening some gifts and most especially, some family time together. My mom has been with my brother and his family for a few days now to help them get ready.
Work was quiet and that was alright since there was much to do. The girls and I baked cookies, Melissa made a French Apple Tart and Amanda and I made a quick stop at Shaw’s and the liquor store. We were finally ready to leave by 5:30 and arrived to wonderful Christmas Eve appetizers and a beautifully set table awaiting its guests.
Here are some moments of our Christmas Eve…
Eating, eating… and more eating!

Day 155:
Half a day at school for my younger 3 – my older 2 kids have been on winter break since last week. Joe is also home and he’s building a wine cellar in the basement. The garage is much too cold and the wine was not fermenting. Hopefully, it will be ready to have a taste on New Years Eve.
Christmas excitement continues…
Jonathan and Remi – at it again!
Today, I have no plans to go anywhere! Just going to stay home and work.

Day 153:
It’s Monday – and we are just days away from Christmas! So today, after working for a few hours – it was time to go out for a bit more shopping – for gifts and groceries.
I do enjoy watching the gifts grow under our tree…
Can’t wait for the big day – for now, back to work!

Day 154:
Tuesday – kids last full day of school. Tomorrow will be a half day full of Christmas celebration throughout the school.
I continue with work and being busy at home. Excitement is in the air - even Remi’s feeling it…
Here, Remi snatched an ornament - Melissa was able to retrieve it before he chewed it up like all the others! That’s my Buba-Wuba.

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
This animated movie – Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer - is a family favorite. As a child, I would watch this once a year at Christmas time. My children were fortunate to watch it through out the Holidays thanks to video!
Baby it’s Cold Outside
“Baby It’s Cold Outside” – I totally agree!
Here is a music video with Jessica Simpson and Nich Lachey. I know it’s yester-year, but they were cute together and both have great voices. Enjoy!

Day 149:
Our Christmas tree was put up today – now I will wait a day or two until it’s branches have relaxed – then time to decorate our Christmas 2009 Tree!
Then it was back to work – back to wrapping – and a trip out for some more Christmas shopping.
Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!
With the snow storm that has been pounding the Northeast and soon to hit New Fairfield, Connecticut ~ Make sure you have necessary supplies, keep safe and … Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

Day 147:
Drove the girls to school this morning and boy was it foggy…
Then back home to do some on-line work – phone calls and more wrapping – my mom and I took off for Danbury Power Sports to pick up a battery for our four-wheeler. Every winter, Joe hooks up the plow to the four-wheeler for the snow removal on our driveway. Having to do it by hand would take forever and having to pay is silly – and - I know Joe and David love going out and “crash” into the snow – it’s a guy thing I guess.
Since the batteries are not charged since they can not be delivered with acid, we had to come back to pick it up after 3 hours – so off to more shopping! We decided to stay close by and chose the Christmas Tree Shop. There, we picked up some more Christmas colored tissue paper, napkins and a few things for my grab bags – which are coming along nicely.
On our way home, mom and I enjoyed seeing more and more Christmas lights and decorations through out – here is one of a Christmas Tree that is placed and lit – every year at the highest point of this building…

Day 146:
Once again, it’s Monday – more working from home – more shopping and a really nice treat for mom and I. We decided after going to Burlington Coat Factory and Shaws – we decided to take a bit of time to relax and watch “Julie & Julia” – and how happy we were that we did! These true life stories about both women was delightful – and all the food and cooking – we were both drooling!
Watching “Julie & Julia” in the den…
While we enjoying the movie – which I rented from RedBox – Remi and Tisha snoozed near me on the coach – spoiled brats!
After the movie – it was back to reality… I wrapped more gifts – did some work on-line and put up my Christmas wreaths – finally!
My Christmas wreaths from Faith and her boy scout group in New Fairfield – Beautiful!

Day 145:
Yesterday, after Christmas shopping ALL DAY… I came home and wrapped gifts for about 4 hours! What kept me going, was watching – It’s a Wonderful Life - Oh how I LOVE this movie.
Today, no appointments, so I did some work – then my mom and I went to Wal-Mart in Danbury, CT. Found a few more gifts for my grab bags, an X-Box video game for Jonathan and took advantage of Wal-Marts great prices for some needed everyday items.
To appreciate all that you have in these difficult times, my suggestion to you is to watch – It’s a Wonderful Life…
If you have never watched this touching movie, please do not view this next video – it is of the end, my favorite part and I wouldn’t want to spoil the ending for you…
As I get older, the meaning of life grows deeper and every year, watching the end of “It’s a Wonderful Life”, makes me cry my eyes out more and more! I hope you have a tissue box nearby.
