My Life as a Realtor – Day 256
My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 256:
Saturday…. my first appointment was over in Heritage Hills in Somers NY …
My 2nd appointment was showing a few homes in Katonah and North Salem NY.
Our 1st home had a striking red door and interesting door knocker…
My final, evening appointment was back with my client from yesterday to the new Rivington complex in Danbury CT…
My client brought her husband along and they were so sweet together.
Then, it was back to mommy mode – food shopping and dinner was on my mind. So, I stopped at Shaw’s at 7:30 at night to find almost nothing! I had lot’s to pick from at home, but was hoping to pick something up that was quick to make. Unfortunately, Shaw’s is closing
and Stop & Shop in coming to New Fairfield! In the end, I made a very difficult decision and bought Chinese Food for dinner… he – he!
My Life as a Realtor – Day 237
My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 237:
It’s Monday – a day to catch up on work since I was out all weekend showing homes – how wonderful!
Even though I made a quick trip to the A&P in Brewster yesterday in-between appointments, I had to go grocery shopping again today – gosh, if I only had the past 10 years of what I’ve spent on food – I’d be rich!
So, a quick trip to Shaws – and to buy pellets – gas up David’s car – back home and back to work until it was time to deliver Amanda’s dinner at school while she continues with theatre practice for the big show this coming weekend at New Fairfield High School!
My Life as a Realtor – Day 234

Day 234:
Yahoo – everyone knows I love my Fridays! Today, I got a kick out of watching Remi watching Tisha. First, he noticed her near the couch…
Then he watched her carefully going around the couch…
and finally, after he whined and made noise loud enough so that she would look up at him…
Remi loves Tisha so very much – she, on the other hand, has a kind of love for him that comes and goes – it’s only when she feels like it. She’s tiny, but she is the boss and can be feisty if he pushes her!
Then, Ma and I went to Shaws for some grocery shopping and recycling…
My Life as a Realtor – Day 232
My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 232:
I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday – aka Garbage Day! Ma – along with the pups - helped me bring all the garbage and recycling down. You could imagine how much rubbish a family of 7 + Ma = 8 can make!
Then it was work, work, work and a quick trip to Shaws – and yes, you can also imagine how much food a family of 8 can consume!
My Life as a Realtor – Day 215
My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 215:
Sunday – finally, a day to relax….. NOT! Have a wonderful new client who is looking into purchasing in Connecticut – possibly Ridgefield.
After making loads of phone calls, e-mails and working here – on my blog – I took a quick ride to Shaw’s since the kiddies are back to school tomorrow and I need a few things – going to the market 4 to 5 times a week is never enough!
Here are a few pics as I made my way to Shaws in New Fairfield CT…
Heading down Brush Hill Road/Route 39
Waiting at the light – Intersection of Rte 39 and Rte 37 - I can see Shaw’s up ahead

Day 211:
It’s Wednesday and it’s back out to shop for groceries, pellets, gas up the car,… bla-bla-bla…
First stop in Danbury was Walmart…
The entire store has been recently renovated, adding a larger food section.
Then, we stopped at Marshalls… ooo – la – la!
then Burlington…
Our last stop was in New Fairfield for gas at Mobil and groceries at Shaw’s and it was back home – and back to work.

Day 210:
More SNOW in New Fairfield, CT!
The kids started their week back to school with a 2 hour delay. Remi just loves the snow – here he followed Jonathan to the end of our driveway to wait for the school bus…
It snowed the entire day…
It became a White Winter Wonderland – Here is a view of our back yard from the dinning room window…
I was happy to be working from home – until it was time to go out – a trip to Shaw’s for some groceries and into Danbury for some pellets!

Day 206:
It’s Friday! Kids are on winter break, so this was an easy week. No worries about bedtime, lunches, homework – I love when they’re home! Remi also loves having them home. He played around with Jonathan for a while until he was all pooped out…
In the afternoon, Jonathan and I went to Shaws and to get pellets to keep our pellet stove going. It is the best investment we’ve ever purchased. Our heating bills are less and our home warmer!
My Life as a Realtor – Day 203

Day 203:
Kids have half a day of school and we are expecting a big snow storm!
After working all morning, Ma and I went to Macy’s…
Then a quick stop at JC Penney’s. Then, back home and back to work, dinner and with fear that the anticipated storm will bring havoc, I went to Shaw’s to stock up on a few items…
By 10pm, the snow had started.
My Life as a Realtor – Day 199
My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 199:
Yeah! Friday!! Although, my favorite day started out with having to drop off Amanda at school at 6am – way too early and dark for me!
By 7:45, Melissa and I headed into the Bronx so she could have her 4 wisdom teeth extracted – poor Melissa! I must say, the dentist and her staff took very good care of her and it only took us an hour and 5 minutes to get from New Fairfield, CT to the Bronx – and I was driving!
A quick stop at Rite Aid in Brewster to pick up her meds – antibiotics and pain killers. Then home to get her settled and to work a bit before heading back out. Jonathan had 10 friends sleep over so a trip to Shaws for snacks – or I should say, junk food!
My Life as a Realtor – Day 194

Day 194:
It’s Sunday – a quiet day. Even Tisha was being a bit lazy. She stopped in the middle of the staircase to yawn…
Jonathan and I took a trip to Shaws…
Then back home – work – cleaning – cooking – and before I knew it, the day had passed – a good, easy day had passed.
My Life as a Realtor – Day 181
My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 181:
Monday! Happy Martin Luther King Day – Kids are happily home from school.
Lot’s of reading today about the market – all signs are pointing upward! E-mailed clients – wrote a few blog posts – and searched new and reduced listings in both New York and Connecticut.
My niece, Jennifer, came over for dinner and we discussed the possibility of purchasing a co-op in White Plains.
After dinner, I made a quick trip to Shaws…
Then it was back home and back to work!
My Life as a Realtor – Day 159
My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 159:
Today was an easy day – I spent a little over 1-1/2 hours with another agent over one of my listings – good conversation. Then I contacted my client – did some work on-line - maybe a total of 4 hours – then a trip to Shaw’s – home for dinner and voila! another day is over!
I swear, the older I get, the quicker time seems to be flying.
When I left for Shaw’s, I noticed how much snow had melted. With all the rain we had yesterday, and warm temperatures today, even Moe was enjoying the day…
My Life as a Realtor – Day 146
My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 146:
Once again, it’s Monday – more working from home – more shopping and a really nice treat for mom and I. We decided after going to Burlington Coat Factory and Shaws – we decided to take a bit of time to relax and watch “Julie & Julia” – and how happy we were that we did! These true life stories about both women was delightful – and all the food and cooking – we were both drooling!
Watching “Julie & Julia” in the den…
While we enjoying the movie – which I rented from RedBox – Remi and Tisha snoozed near me on the coach – spoiled brats!
After the movie – it was back to reality… I wrapped more gifts – did some work on-line and put up my Christmas wreaths – finally!
My Christmas wreaths from Faith and her boy scout group in New Fairfield – Beautiful!
My Life as a Realtor – Day 140
My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 140:
It Snowed! Schools were canceled here in New Fairfield, CT – by the afternoon, it was raining and the snow turned to slush. Then, in the evening – we had freezing rain - and… thunder and lightning – ??? Hugh? Joe was plowing the driveway when it started and had to wait til it passed – bizarre!
A Blanket of Snow in Our Backyard
After working for a bit, Ma and I took a trip to Shaws and to get gas – I think we made it back home in less than 40 minutes, but at least we got out of the house for a bit.
We enjoyed our dinner and a low-key evening by the fireplace.
My Life as a Realtor – Day 136
My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 136:
It SNOWED!
When Jonathan and I first when out to Shaw’s for some groceries, it was only raining – by the time we came home, the rain had changed to snow and it was comind down lightly – not sticking much.
I worked and cleaned… cleaned and worked – then Jonathan and I went back out and now it was really coming down…
Ball Pond ~ New Fairfield, CT
Back home – we had our pellet stove and fireplace going. Tisha was enjoying the warmth from the fireplace…
Tisha took the doggie bed while Remi…. well, Remi always thinks he’s better so he took over the couch…
My Life as a Realtor – Day 125
My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 125:
Oh my – Thanksgiving Eve! I can’t tell you how much I have to do!
Jonathan and I set out to go grocery shopping at Costco and Shaw’s – but before getting started, we made a quick stop at Dunkin Donuts…
I was relieved that I had accomplished some of my work early this morning and would continue later in the evening since there was lots of prep work to do!
My Life as a Realtor – Day 121
My Life as a Realtor ~
Day 121:
It’s Saturday – after making a few phone calls – following up with Feedback from agents that have shown some of my listings – comunicated with clients – accomplished some work on-line and finished a few chores – I set out to Stop n Shop for some grocery shopping – keeping my eye out for any specials for my Thanksgiving dinner.
Then a quick stop at Staples to purchase some ink for my printer and back home to drop off the groceries. As I started dinner, I realized I forgot a few things! So, I left David tending to my half started dinner while I went to Shaws – which is just a few minutes away. I decided while I was there to also rent a few movies from Redbox and purchase a few more pellets. I must have said this a hundred times – I LOVE MY PELLET STOVE! Do you wanna know why? Because it’s close to the end of Novemeber and I haven’t turned on my furnace!!

Day 112:
Finally – Closing for my clients is fully confirmed for tomorrow! They are so relieved and I can’t wait to once again witness and know I was a part of the purchase of another First Time Home Buyer.
Since I had David’s car during the morning – it was errands on the top of my list. Bank - and the Office in Brewster, NY – and back to New Fairfield, CT to the Liquor Store for Wine – and Shaw’s for some more groceries and pellets…

For dinner, I made homemade Pizza and Soup – Yum! I worked until a little after midnight – big day tomorrow, so a decent amount of sleep is necessary – I’ll get a whole 6 hours! Ha! Then I wonder why I have bags under my eyes…

Day 103:
I can’t believe it’s November! Halloween is over, so let’s talk Turkey! In 26 days, I will be making 2 Turkeys to host the Holiday – Thanksgiving Day – to 30 somewhat guests.
For today, it’s catch up with work and housekeeping – since I had an appointment and Halloween party yesterday. I also squeezed in a trip to Shaw’s – a few other errands and Jonathan’s soccer game. I am thankful it’s not an away game, saving me about 2 hours in commuting time. We played at home… and won!
New Fairfield High School Turf Field
I was very happy for Jonathan and his team – and was very cold – so I admit, I watched the game from my car.

Day 66:
Friday – Yahoo! Important phone calls for a client first thing this morning – request for an appointment to view homes on Monday from another client and calls to an attorney and mortgage broker with concerns for 2 other clients. In the meantime, e-mails, searching, texting, and other calls. And, every so often, Joe would call me upstairs to take a picture of the progression of all his hard work in our master bath…
Tile going up…
adding decorative glass tile…
the final touch, stones that Joe hand picked this summer while in the beach in Portugal.
I went to Shaw’s – again – while waiting for an important call from a client. I also decided to make an Apple Tart – made with Apples, Cream Cheese, Honey and Puff Pastry. A recipe from ThePaperApron.com

Day 46:
What a wonderful day today… I could breathe! Thanks to the steroids that were administered yesterday at Danbury Hospital, my lungs were clear and my asthma is 99% gone!
bbjee – Flickr.com
I also heard from a client who I haven’t heard from in about a year. I’ve been sending listings and time to time she’d e-mail back. Being a Realtor® and having patients and understanding helps tremendously since purchasing a home can take time helps tremendously.
I set up appointments – 3 homes in Brookfield, Newtown and Bethel – picked up my clients and had some great conversation in the car.
Then Jonathan and I went to Shaw’s for some grocery shopping, bought some wine at Fairwood Wines & Liquors in New Fairfield which is conveniently located near Shaw’s and Starbucks. Back home to whip up dinner and get back to work – made appointments for tomorrow – phone calls – e-mails – searching listings – reading…

Enterance to Candlewood Town Park ~ New Fairfield, CT
Worked from home again – drove Jonathan to meet with some of his friends at Candlewood Lake Town Beach in New Fairfield – 5 minutes from home - to meet with some of his friends.

Then I dropped our car rental off at New Fairfield Auto Body so that Enterprise can pick it up in the am – Oh, that Ford Focus will be missed! When Joe gets back from Portugal, we will have to go car shopping and he’s insisting on a pick up truck.

Then -work, work, work…
Clean, clean, clean…
Back to pick up Jonathan -

Dinner, dinner, dinner…
Then Melissa and I went to Shaw’s - just a few things needed. And back home to -
Work, work, work… until about 2am since I have a busy day tomorrow.
